A bridge Northeast of Whistler
So check it out, myself and DaveyB went on a little bit of a road trip:
- Victoria to Whistler (via Nanaimo – Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay – North of Vancouver)
- Whistler to Kamloops (via Lillooet)
- Kamloops to Kelowna
- Kelowna to Victoria (via Tsawwassen)

Setting up for the ultimate shot, which is on Davey’s camera
Shannon Falls, you’ve probably seen them a million times so I wont bother. Here’s a leaf instead.

People wrote things on this bank of dirt with rocks. I didn’t write anything with rocks – I like typing better

Seton Lake, it looked like a model.

Wharf of Seton Lake. We almost got trapped here by how cool it was.
We escaped! Into the mountains. I think we had just passed Lillooet at this point.

A lot of this landscape didn’t even look real.
This biker was haulin’.
Davey did a good job of keeping pace with this train. I have way too many photos of it. Here you can see the drivers of the train pointing at the Lancer.
I figured out how to take road shots that I really like and I took a lot of them.
See?
Yep.
Random elevations for houses. I bet it would be fun to slide down and hang out with your neighbour when it snowed.
Want to go somewhere cool in BC? You should be seeing signs like this if you’re on the correct road.
Okay so we got to Kamloops and we found a place to park. Davey pointed out this bridge. This bridge has all sorts of motivational sayings as it crosses over the railroad tracks.
Man, that was so worth the trip. Feels great to have this kind of recognition.
I imagine this is the train we passed earlier.
frick and frack.
FTW Financial Services Inc. You want to win on your investments? Clearly your monies belong here.
That’s pretty hardcore.
Ohhh dear.
Hey, now that is an interesting concept.
These cows looked like clipart, but they weren’t, so I took their photo.
What are these horses up to? Scheming something..
Ever heard of Falkland? Here it is, it looks exactly like this. Land o the Falks.
Burnt trees
K-Town is an alias for Kelowna (not Kamloops). Sadly K-Town is closing down. I’m not sure why but a lot of stores were closed in downtown Kelowna in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. Weird.
This is a photo I took for many reasons, not the least of which was the array of stuff they have printed on their window. I’m not sure what it means but it seems like they have it going on.
Kelowna’s pylons are superior to Nanaimo’s pylons
Manhair Cutplace
Olde sign for oldeshoppe
This man was named Helmut. He informed me that the sign I was taking a picture of was, in fact, very old. A waitress came out to ask what all the commotion was. Some people inside were asking what was going on with the cameras. I don’t think I really responded to the waitress now that I think about it.
I like these kind of shots because of what you can do with them later in designs – leafs make for pretty vectors, especially these two-toned kinds.

Oh my god this guy scared the crap out of me when I was walking. Even after I took this photo and moved the camera from the front of my face I was stunned to see this guy staring at me from behind the bushes. That is one creepy statue. Thanks a lot, K-town.
Feels good to have a scotch at the end of a long day of traveling, am I right?
Another example of how Kelowna’s pylons are superior to Nanaimo’s pylons
Are you low on irrational fears? This sign can help!
I like it when things are “free” and at the top of a bunch of stairs. Very promising isn’t it? This is the next day in Merritt when we stopped momentarily to eat.
The scenery on the way back down the highway from Kelowna to Vancouver was pretty insane but we were also going insanely fast so photos only happened here and there.
And here.
And as you can see we made it back to Victoria. Where else would you see a pimped out pickup truck advertising an all-day breakfast spot? Probably all over the place, but for serious Victoria has a bit of an obsession with weekend breakfast.
“SEXY DANCE TIME”!
Looks like a great trip!
These shots are awesome. I feel like I was there!!
Wikked road trip budday
Great photos! The BC interior is so beautiful. 🙂
The pub we went to was Doc Willoughby’s: http://www.myspace.com/docwilloughbys
I have also been startled by that weird man statue at night.
Love your description of Pete.
Awww, you guys didn’t do the southern run through Osoyoos to Manning Park to Vangroover. Love the pictures, and yes Pete is definitely a laser beam of Manhood. Great comments. So good to see you and Davey.
Sweet shooting man!
Quackalacka motivational bridge FTW posing horses creepy guy gunk! Epic photo collection!
Love the photos! Great spread across BC. I can’t wait to go to Tofino in a couple days, and then Victoria later in July… I always feel like I need to explore more of BC! 🙂 These photos are just getting me even more excited for the trip!
GAHHHH! Thanks for bringing me a huge slice of life in my stomping grounds… just the thing to cure a parched Beijing soul!
