strange! wonder what it’s for…
looks like it’s for holding already mixed concrete… least that’s my assumption.
but…. wouldn’t it set?
Hey! That’s the killer whale…!!!!
Well, actually…it’s affectionately known by those at Ocean Concrete/Heidelberg Cement as ‘the killer whale’.
They use it for transporting cement (that’s the powder form that you mix up with water and sand to make concrete) up from the Lehigh Cement plant in Delta to various concrete depots along the coast.
…and ready mixed concrete would set…actually too fast to transport by barge.
