pictured is tracey (who is trixie) in some park near 17th avenue in calgary. did i mention how much fun that trip was? yeah. i got some snazz new shoes, new shirt, new jeans, um, and other new stuff. slightly awesome.

the amalia surprised me last night with a picnic on the beach and icecream from the beacon hill drive through. best roommate ever? i think so.

busy next two weeks: finishing adriantaverner.ca (phase 1), interview with CBC for VEMF, TV show proposal, NewVI's morning show next week for VEMF, VEMF itself, workshop coordination galore, finishing off tunes, getting a PFR banner done, working full time, and friends in from Toronto .. ironically the two i was going to visit this summer happen to be in victoria at the moment. how cool is that? uhhh huh!

for that TV show proposal i fleshed most of it out last night on paper while watching hotel rwanda. that movie is powerful. i was so sad last night after watching it and it made me question everything around me and whether or not i am actually helping people. well i am. but it's so intangible in comparison to what i saw in that movie. it feels so sheltered here. i feel selfish being in this world as i am.

i am getting stuff done and moving forward in davinland.

so much. all at once.

too tired to say much other than drew played the influenza remix of me and anand's settle the score tonight at hush and it sounded great. so much PFR to do, so little time. gotta sleep, justin's over here at 11 AM to work on our first ever collab project. should be nothing short of fuck-yes.

so! Pacific Front Sessions airs tonight at 9 pm on proton radio. it is a new monthly show that I do with Justin to play great tunes and raise the profile of 1) Pacific Front Recordings and 2) Those who support PFR.

i took this shot when i was wandering around on this 'spit' in sooke beside the sooke harbour house. it was a gorgeous night. see?

well it doesn't seem like me and the amalia have had too much time together lately to work on our place, which is too bad because we're really close now. i fixed the sink yesterday but by no stretch of the imagination is the sink "okay" now, the plumber really did a number on this job. things he did wrong include:

• showing up late
  
• carelessly ripping out the previous sink, taking pieces of the countertop with him meaning we need a new countertop now
  
• installing the wrong sink and forgetting the hose
  
• leaving no information on the garborator or usage instructions
  
• not installing the sink flush to the countertop
  
• not sealing the space he left between the sink and the countertop

not pleased at all.

however, home life has been great. i really bonded with my new place this past week and finished one of my most inspired productions to date. the amalia saw me in this creative state and was like "are you okay?" i think i was grinning at nothing in particular while tweaking a knob on the usb midi controller. haha. i am weird.

i could recap my life for you and all the stuff i've been doing but i've noticed profoundly that documenting life actually takes away from life. i am tilting my life in several ways from being a spectator to a participant once more..

i forgot to say -when- i am going to calgary. july 21-24th. i am going to visit my 3 friends there, tracey micah and cary, and see a new (to me) city. that sounds good to me.

i did a tonne of work to a remix i am working on yesterday .. hung out with justin, christina, andrew and amalia at the pad last night before the fireworks. i was going to go to mike's but we ran out of time .. damnit! we saw the fireworks as we walked down yates.. it was kind of cool to walk around the city .. it was somewhat deserted when the fireworks came on, and we got the backdrop of fireworks behind the city which was neat looking. it would've provided for some good photo op but i decided last night was not a good night to take the camera out. so anyway.
