a movie that I can’t wait for to come out!
Someone please tell me how grammatically incorrect that last sentence was. Please.
Oh and it appears to be 9/11 already.
At this moment I don’t really have anything profound to say. It’s been one of our earth years since something really bad happened which had a lot of media coverage, however, really awful things happen every day in countries that don’t have the media power that the United States has. It was horrible, yes, but this is a sick, sick world and 9/11 was a symptom of the problem. As Jim pointed out in a discussion about this the other day, another great tragedy has occured since then, this time in the form of people’s loss of some basic rights throughout America.
I don’t want to get political at 3 a.m.
I think what I am trying to say is that it’s been a year since the two planes flew into the WTC towers and it’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the world’s problems.
It really is.
That is all.
cheeky_: there is a weird man drywalling in my bathroom
ariz0na: lexi: Do you mean a “weirdman” or a “weird man”?
cheeky_: weird man
Mykee: wats the difference
ariz0na: Mykee: weirdmen are weirder than weird men
Mykee: how so?
ariz0na: they’re lacking a space in their name .. which is kind of weird, since there’s no reason for it. weirdness.
Mykee: i see.
volo: that is rather….odd
cheeky_: i just hope he isn’t a murderer or something
cheeky_: cuz i’m all alone
cheeky_: and i don’t feel like being murdered today
lift it all up, whut!
this is the second week of lift at hush.. with myself and yoseff as residents. we still don’t have any posters on telephone poles, but I wonder how effective that is. i think that we have to spend a couple mondays plastering uvic with posters and flyers. i believe we’ll enjoy the results.
at the club over the weekend, there was a notable increase in attendence, mainly due to school being back in season.
i’ve been waiting for someone to come over for the last few hours. this is a ridiculous waste of time. i am not angry; i am just disappointed because we could’ve gotten pretty far with the song we’re working on, and in turn we’re no further than before, even though i’ve put my time in.
A while ago Chrissie lent me a bunch of her tapes that she had made of the RGM show. As I slowly go through them, I’m coming across tonnes of great music, great mixing, moments of clearness on the air, and moments of silliness.
I will, in all likelyhood, be posting these clips on the website as I find them. Here is one from the classiv show that features nickgurns on the decks (he has the Quivver mix of Pete Lazonby’s “Sacred Cycles” on in the background), myself on the main mic and Bedlam with Spyguy also on the surrounding mics. Check it out.
I went to East Sooke Park today with Jim. It was just gorgeous out there..
Gorgeous is probably my most over-used word lately. That isn’t particularly a bad thing .. I have to be constantly surrounded by beauty to over-use it, so things are cool.
On the way out we stopped at Burger King where you could make chicken noises to get a free chicken salad as a part of a promotion for the new B107.3 FM. Also you could say a promo phrase for a free milkshake:
“B 107.3 PLAYS TODAYS HITS”.
Jim managed to pull this one off for the free milkshake but I managed to screw it up about 6 times and then decided it just wasn’t worth it for the free milkshake. Besides, Jim’s milkshake didn’t look that great anyways, especially after just having a Vanilla Creme Frappicino (spelling on that?) from Starbux. Mmmmmm….
After that we cruised back to Gordon Hood, at which time the sun was setting. We went up on Mt. Doug and witnessed one hell of a neat looking sunset. Jim took sun-setting pictures and there should be something to show off soon!
Tonight I’m going swimming at Oak Bay Rec. People are asking me lately “what’s with you and swimming?!” Well, I figure it’s kind of like going for coffee, except with less clothes on. So it’s kind of like going to the bar, except you can hear eachother. And go on the water slide.. and the hot tub, and the swinging rope, and the sauna.. oh yeah, and you can even swim!
So I find all of this enjoyable. Additionally, I enjoyed going swimming when I was younger quite a bit. There’s just something about going out for a swim that is incredibly refreshing and that holds a great deal of importance to me. Being on the interweb too much makes you dirty. All those computer viruses and such.
I have decided I really enjoy this blogging thing. Writing is good, and even somewhat therapeutic. Thanks Devon, Jim, and Julie! Word to the massive.
quote from luke tonight:
“I like beer. Beer is my friend!”
okay, so I read something on devon’s website in regards to “american idol.” I know that it’s a TV show, and I know tonnes of people are watching it.
However, I’m not. I also didn’t watch survivor. Now they’ve got some wank named Jeremy from Survivor doing commercials for Subway. And I’m like “Jeremy WHO?” Celebrity endorsements are supposed to lend trust and familiarity to their given marketed product. However I just am not seeing that from this guy. I guess the people who watched Survivor trust this guy. Hahaha. I just find him irritating.
“What’s Jeremy eating today!? Well it’s a knuckle sandwich!”
Maybe I oughta watch more TV so that I can subscribe to these ad campaigns.
That would be meaningful.
or is that a box-spring springy-box thingie on top of a station wagon going up fernwood towards hillside?

Yesterday it was cold and windy in Victoria .. but last night at The Location it was warm and calm. Braeden, Bedlam & Yoseff all played great sets. There was near perfect sound, great visuals and awesome people.
I’m over at Ria’s now. We just had dinner and now we’re both nerding out on the computers before heading out for a Sunday evening coffee.
